Our Story

Welcome To Fire Station 1

The station was originally built in 1915 by the state as an armory for the National Guard. The Silver Spring Volunteer Fire Department was also formed at about the same time and out of necessity, after a house on Silver Spring Avenue burned in the fall of 1914 and the Silver Spring Post Office burned on May 5, 1915.

What People are Saying

the wings get better and better.

I’ve been here a few times and the wings get better and better. I’ve never come at any other time except happy hour due to the close proximity to my job. It’s a nice casual atmosphere with a jazz vibe.

Pretty cool place to watch Football

Pretty cool place to watch Football! Came in to watch the Eagles Vikings game. Plenty of tv’s and surround sound. Our waiter was attentive and nice.

I enjoyed the food!

I enjoyed the food! It was hearty and quite satisfying. The portions are large. I was able to take half home and eat it for lunch the next day. Based on that alone I’d say it was a great value.
